Jim Cronin, a horticulture and suckler farmer from Bridgetown Co. Clare, was named winner of the Farming for Nature Public Choice Award 2020 at this year’s Burren Winterage Weekend 2020 on the 24th of October 2020. A short film about Jim’s farm can be found here: https://youtu.be/CTei94o8TGA
The 8 nominees for this award, supported by the National Rural Network, were a cross-section of farmers selected from this year’s 16 Farming for Nature Ambassadors. These Ambassadors, located across Ireland, are farmers who are adjudged to be managing their land and livestock in a way that really benefits nature in their area. Dr Shane Conway was on the judging panel for these awards on behalf of the NRN.
