The National Rural Network (NRN) is searching for its fourth Biodiversity ambassador through the FBD Young Farmer of the Year competition.
The NRN partnered with Macra na Feirme in 2018 in a bid to raise awareness of Biodiversity among young farmers. Since then, the conversation and awareness about how farmland is a vital support for a lot of Irish biodiversity has increased. Young farmers who successfully reach the semi-final rounds are asked to showcase the array of habitats and discuss the agri-environmental actions incorporated on their farms in recent years.
The NRN Biodiversity Farmer of the Year Award celebrates farmers safeguarding the environment by protecting and enhancing wild flora and fauna on their farms. The award is presented by the NRN, and it is part of the FBD Young Farmer of the Year competition..
The winner will be revealed at the awards ceremony scheduled for December 14th 2021. See National Rural Network for more information.
