Please be advised of the following amendments to the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS II) in response to COVID-19.

The TAMSII is currently in its 17th tranche and was due to close on 24th April, but the closing date for this tranche is now extended to 5th June 2020

DAFM have also announced some flexibility on TAMSII completion deadlines. Where projects were due for completion and/or approvals were due to expire, a 3-month extension is applied to those between 1st March and 1st July 2020.

A 3-month extension also applies to outstanding TAMSII payment claims for project completed by 1st July 2020.

Completion of a Health & Safety course is a key requirement for TAMSII, as these courses are now postponed, a derogation is now in place which defers the obligation to attend the course and allows the applicant to be paid for works completed. This derogation is proposed for a 3-month period, participants will be required to complete  a Heath & Safety course when courses commence.

DAFM has indicated that payments made under the TAMSII scheme have now exceeded €205 million and that payments are being issued on an ongoing basis.

Up to 27th March 2020,  26,912 approvals have been issued by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine under the scheme.
