In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the Pearl Mussel Project EIP-AGRI Operational Group has gone digital, using Zoom to hold meetings with farmers participating in the project. This form of communication is being used to ensure that safe social distancing protocols are met and acts as a way to maintain contact with the different project stakeholders.

This most recent online project meeting resulted in 18 project participants logging on to view presentations from Dr Derek McLoughlin and Mary McAndrew to provide updates on the latest programme developments. This inspiring Knowledge Transfer (KT) approach will continue to be developed over the next few months given the current situation, along with a number of other innovative online measures to communicate with farmers.

The full 20-minute video of the presentations can be viewed here: https://www.pearlmusselproject.ie/resources/video-resources/pearl-mussel-project-eip–.html

The Pearl Mussel Project has also recently issued their first newsletter detailing their latest project developments which can be downloaded here- https://www.pearlmusselproject.ie/pmp-newsletter-march-2020_w.pdf.
