GSI Doctoral Research Award

Dr Shane Conway, Researcher in the Discipline of Geography’s Rural Studies Unit at NUI Galway and the National Rural Network, has recently been announced the winner of the Geographical Society of Ireland’s Doctoral Research Award 2020 for his widely published research on the human side of farm succession and retirement in later life.

Dr Conway presented an overview of the next steps of his work in this area, investigating the potential of an organisation for older farmers in Ireland, at the NUI Galway School of Geography, Archaeology and Irish Studies Spring Lunchtime Lecture Series on the 11th of Feb 2021 via Zoom.
