Mexico-Ireland St Brigid’s Day Event

Dr. Maura Farrell, Lecturer in the Discipline of Geography at NUI Galway, and Lead Researcher with the NRN recently chaired the Embassy of Ireland in Mexico’s ‘St Brigid’s Day: A Celebration of Women in Agriculture in Ireland and Mexico’ day-long webinar on the 3rd of February.

Dr. Farrell also presented her research in the area of women in agriculture at this event, and spoke of the huge change she has witnessed in recent years. This webinar, hosted by the Irish embassy in Mexico City to mark St Brigid’s Day, highlighted the role women play as the ‘unsung heroes’ of the agriculture sector in the two countries.
