The NRN have recently added a case study on Producer Organisations (POs) to their website.
POs are similar to co-operatives because they are producer owned and controlled organisations which allow members to better their position in the supply chain and negotiate better prices with producers through collective bargaining on behalf of their members. This case study gives a detailed overview as to what they are, how they work and details their existence across Ireland and the EU.
