The International Farm Transition Network (IFTN) based in the U.S.A. held their annual conference from the 8th to 10th of June 2021.
Dr Shane Conway, Researcher in the Discipline of Geography’s Rural Studies Unit at NUI Galway was invited to present important and timely research from Ireland on the human side of intergenerational farm transfer in later life at this event. This research provides an in-depth, nuanced understanding of the complex nature of the various emotional and social factors governing the behaviour patterns and attitudes of older farmers facing succession and retirement.
