  5. All Ireland Pollinator Plan...

The All-Ireland Pollinator Plan (AIPP) for 2021-2025 is a new five-year road map that aims to help bees, other pollinating insects and our wider biodiversity. Irish pollinators are in decline. The issue is serious, and in order to ensure the sustainability of our food production; to avoid additional economic impact on the agricultural sector; and to protect the health of the environment, it requires immediate attention. This second AIPP is a shared plan of action which is even more ambitious than the first version (AIPP 2015-2020).

The AIPP 2021 – 2025 has six objectives:

  • Making farmland pollinator friendly
  • Making public land pollinator friendly
  • Making private land pollinator friendly
  • All Ireland Honeybee strategy
  • Conserving rare pollinators
  • Strategic coordination of the plan
