The Agri-Environment Training scheme (AETS) is a voluntary training scheme which aims to train farmers in environmental practices and standards, encourage and help them understand future agri-environmental scheme objectives and promote awareness of the importance of farm safety.
Farmers who apply for a Basic Payment Scheme are eligible to attend the training. A farmer mayonly attend one training course during the lifetime of the Scheme. An AETS training course comprises of two training sessions (one in the morning and the other in the afternoon) on the same day. Any farmer who satisfactorily attends an AETS course is eligible for a payment of €156, which will be paid to them by the AETS Trainer.
Any farmer who wishes to complete the AETS should make contact with and approved AETS Trainer.
