[breadcrumb]

The National Rural Network (NRN) is an EU-funded programme which forms part of the Rural Development Programme (RDP). For the period from 1st January 2016 to 31st December 2020, the NRN is being delivered by a consortium of the following four organisations – Irish Rural Link (lead partner); NUI Galway; Philip Farrelly & Co. and The Wheel.

The NRN is committed to protecting your privacy including using technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the NRN website (nationalruralnetwork.ie) and associated communications and governs data collection and usage. By using the NRN website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your Personal Information

The NRN collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number for the purposes of registering your details as a member or as a contact person from an organisation. The NRN does not request any other personal information except to the extent, when organising events, that participants may need to advise of personal accommodation or dietary requirements.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by the NRN. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used by the NRN for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the NRN website.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through any NRN public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: The NRN does not read any of your private online communications.

The NRN encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to through the NRN so that you can understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. The NRN is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the NRN.

Use of your Personal Information

The NRN only collects and uses any personal information to operate the NRN website (nationalruralnetwork.ie) and deliver the services you have requested. The NRN also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from the NRN through its main website – nationalruralnetwork.ie.

Use of Cookies

The NRN website uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize the NRN pages, or register with the NRN site or services, a cookie helps the NRN to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. If you return to the website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to experience any interactive features of the website.

Security of your Personal Information

The NRN takes all reasonable steps to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure and secures the personally identifiable information you provide in secure databases and on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

Removing or updating your information

If you wish to update or remove information previously provided to the NRN or wish to no longer be contacted by the NRN please contact us at info@nationalruralnetwork.ie with details of your specific request and your request will be actioned.

Changes to this Statement

The NRN will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback. The NRN encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how the NRN is protecting your information.
