With LEADER support, the Sligo Centre for Independent Living (SCIL) CLG established a community hub called ‘Number 45’ in Sligo Town, which provides an inclusive space for all members of the public to meet and engage in different activities.
Earlier this year, the NRN was delighted to help share the story of this fantastic project on page 13 of the Diversity Journal, a booklet showcasing a diverse range of inspiring examples of how individuals, communities, organisations, and local and national authorities have worked with the EU to make Ireland a more open, equal and diverse society.
The Diversity Journal was published and launched by the European Commission Representation in Ireland who have followed this up by producing a series of videos further publicising the projects featured in the booklet.
A short video highlighting the impact of ‘Number 45’ on the local community is available to watch here.
The full length NRN case study on this LEADER project is also available on our website here.
