LEADER Delivering for County Monaghan

Jan 24, 2020 | LEADER News

LEADER funding provides both community groups and private enterprise with the resources necessary to actively engage and direct the economic, social development and environmental protection of their local area, through community-led local development.

An informative LEADER infographic produced by Monaghan Integrated Development has been featured in this week’s edition of the Northern Standard (23/01/2019), the longest established newspaper circulating in Co. Monaghan.

It outlines the level of funding awarded and allocated to LEADER projects throughout the county as well as case study examples of inspirational projects funded through the LEADER Programme 2014-2020 to help potential applicants see what is possible.

The National Rural Network are delighted to see such a great spread of innovative projects being developed across the county. Gabriel O’Connell, CEO of Monaghan Integrated Development explains that “demand is high for project funding. Community and voluntary groups, businesses and tourism interests all across the county have been successfully working with our LEADER staff in bringing forward project ideas and are being supported in making LEADER funding applications. But those interested in getting their projects funded are advised to act fast, as this is the final year for funding allocations of the current LEADER programme and demand is very high.”
