LEADER Newsletter August 2020

The most recent issue of this newsletter contains several items pertaining to LEADER, including an update on how the current programme is progressing. As well as highlighting the NRN’s recent LEADER Promotion week and the launch of our upcoming LEADER Impact campaign, it also includes a step-by-step guide for those interested in applying for LEADER funding and walks people through the different stages involved in the application process.

Clann Credo – Community Loan Finance’s role in generating financing brighter futures and a piece about a LEADER Project featured in Changing Ireland Magazine are also featured within. LEADER’s leading role in creating Smart Villages and Rural Towns as well as Dingle’s participation in the new Smart Rural 21 project are other key articles included in this informative newsletter.

The NRN’s most recent newsletter also points to several resources that are hosted on the NRN website which can help people, communities and organisations to develop their own LEADER projects. These include an Implementing Partner (IP) and Local Action Group (LAG) database which acts as a ‘one stop shop’ to allow people to identify their nearest IP and LAG to help them kick-start and develop their LEADER projects in tandem with their Local Development Strategies.
