As part of Farm Safety Week 2022, the NRN team at the University of Galway produced a new booklet showcasing Ireland’s 8 Farm Health, Safety and Wellbeing EIP-AGRI Projects worth €1.8m announced by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) last year.

As farming is one of the most dangerous occupations in Ireland with an estimated 2,500 incidents of serious accidental injuries reported annually, and an average of 21 fatalities each year, this Farm Health, Safety and Wellbeing EIP-AGRI initiative is very timely and illustrates the DAFM’s commitment to addressing this significant challenge through innovative, locally-led, farmer-centred policy interventions.
