Episode 7 the NRN’s EIP-AGRI Participating Farmer Vlog Series – Protecting Farmland Pollinators Project

The National Rural Network have recently released the 7th episode of our Video Blog (Vlog) series featuring farmers who are participating EIP-AGRI projects throughout Ireland. The latest Vlog features Anthony Mooney, a farmer who is involved in the Protecting Farmland Pollinators Project, along with an introduction to the project from its Manager, Dr Saorla Kavanagh.

This good practice dissemination platform is just one of a number of multi-method communication strategies being implemented by the NRN to maximize the success of the objectives set out in Ireland’s Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020 (extended to 2022) on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM).

Protecting Farmland Pollinators Project 

This EIP-AGRI project aims to develop a flexible mechanism that encourages all farmers to make their whole-farm more pollinator friendly in a way that is measurable and will not impact on productivity.

EIP-AGRI Initiative Overview

The EIP-AGRI initiative was set up by the European Commission to promote innovation and foster sustainable growth within the agri-food sector and rural economy through a multi-actor approach involving farmers, researchers, advisors and agri-businesses. In Ireland, EIP-AGRI projects are co-funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) and the EU under the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014 – 2020 (Extended to 2022).
