Caomhnú Árann EIP Project Leads Field Trip for the Next Generation of Aran Farmers

Jul 13, 2022 | EIP-AGRI News

Working with over 120 farmers on the Aran Islands, the Caomhnú Árann EIP project aims to protect and restore priority habitat at lower costs and greater efficiency through the exploration and development of innovative methods of habitat management and conservation.

Caomhnú Árann EIP

Caomhnú Árann recently led a field trip to the Trá Mór machair for children from Scoil Eoin Pól II and Scoil Rónáin to explore the Machair habitat and learn more about fantastic species such as the lapwing that nest there. Over 60 children were given the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the rich heritage on their doorstep and the strong link between farming and nature conservation on the islands.
