The fourth edition of the Rural Inspiration Awards (RIA) 2022 is open for entries! This year’s theme is ‘The Future is Youth’ inspired jointly by the European Year of Youth 2022, the long-term vision for the EU’s rural areas, and the Rural Pact, developed by the European Commission. RIA 2022 seeks to promote the importance of European youth to build a better future – greener, resilient, more socially inclusive, innovative, and digital.
This year, Member States are encouraged to submit applications linked to the four thematic categories listed below. Additionally, a popular vote will reward a project that involves young people in rural areas, via an online vote.
Main purpose of the competition:
- To increase the visibility of agriculture and rural development.
- To demonstrate innovative solutions affecting rural communities.
- To recognise projects that involve young people (under 40 years old) in rural areas.
- To promote knowledge exchange and networking among rural stakeholders by presenting best practice examples.
