The RDS Spring Awards are a rare occasion in which farmers across all sectors come together to celebrate all they have achieved. The goal of the RDS Agriculture and Rural Affairs programme is to promote best practice and efficiency in farming to ensure farm household profitability and sustainability in Ireland.
With an overall prize fund of €23,000, the RDS Spring Awards celebrate and promote the principles of climate-smart agriculture. Building on a name from the past, but firmly focused on the future of the sector, the Awards want to recognise the very best farmers, foresters, agri-entrepreneurs and innovators in Ireland.
This year’s Award winners will be announced at the 2020 RDS Spring Awards Lunch which will take place in the RDS Concert Hall on Tuesday, April 14.
In addition to the established livestock and forestry awards, the RDS have recently introduced a new Sustainability Awards category that celebrates the work of individuals, farm families and organisations who are enhancing the economic, environmental and social development of Irish agriculture and rural communities.
