A Boost of Funding Focusing on Short Term Research Projects Announced by Minister Heydon

Minister Martin Heydon announced this week awards of over €4.2 million for 19 short term projects looking specifically at emerging policy and strategic needs of the agri-food, forest and bio economy sectors.

Some 12 research organisation have been awarded funding from The Policy and Strategic Studies Research Stand which was first launched in 2022.  Successfully 19 projects with a wide range of topics from assessing greenhouse gas emission of Irish beef and dairy systems to project focusing on rural women in farming.  Topics including climate adaptation to animal health are also being researched.
