Open Call for Proposals for Woodland Support Projects 2021/2022

The Department for Agriculture, Food and the Marine recently held an Open Call for Proposals for Woodland Support Projects for 2021/2022. The aim of the call was to encourage farmers and other landowners to plant and to raise the profile of forestry as a public good and a commercially viable enterprise.

Applications for funding of projects which support and highlight forestry were invited under four themes:

  • Support and highlight the environmental benefits of woodlands.
  • Support and highlight the benefits of woodland, focusing on farmers, and/ or community engagement and / or general wellness.
  • Support and highlight productive forestry and timber products, in the context of climate actions and the bioeconomy.
  • Support and highlight sustainable forest management among forest owners.

The deadline for applications was May 24th 2021 and the competition is now closed. Details of the successful applicants will be published on the Government website.
