The National Rural Network (NRN) will be on hand at the National Ploughing Championships (17th to 19th September in Ballintrane, Fenagh, Co. Carlow) to demonstrate how the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020 supports biodiversity, climate action, rural development, innovation and farm viability.

The public is invited to visit the NRN stand in the Department of and Marine marquee (stand 422, Block 3, Row 19) for information on a range of RDP programmes, including LEADER, Smart Villages, EIP-Agri and GLAS.

On Wednesday and Thursday (18 / 19 September) the NRN will be hosting an interactive quiz on biodiversity in rural communities and on farms, at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine stand.

Speaking ahead of the National Ploughing Championships, Seamus Boland, Coordinator of the NRN said, “Our ambition is to bring the RDP into the lives of as many people as possible by communicating its key opportunities and outputs to all relevant stakeholders.”

The NRN is a membership network farmers, agricultural advisors, rural communities and others interested in rural development. It provides up-to-date information, case studies, seminars and conferences to maximise the beneficial outcomes of Ireland’s Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 for rural stakeholders.
