EU Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas

The National Rural Network (NRN) is hosting a free online workshop on the future of Ireland’s rural areas on Monday, 25th of January from 2-4.30pm.

The European Commission is currently developing a Long-Term Vision for Rural Areas (LTVRA) in the EU. This is an opportunity for groups of rural citizens to explore their ideal vision for the future of their own rural area. The Commission will collect views on the current opportunities and challenges in rural areas, the different policies implemented in rural areas, the aspirations for rural areas in 2040, and the actions needed for these to materialise.

The online LTVRA workshop, hosted by the National Rural Network, is an important opportunity for Irish stakeholders to have their say. The workshop is open to anyone with an interest in our rural areas, including farmers, consumers, the agri-food sector, rural enterprises, local authorities, civil society organisations, rural youth, local action groups, academics and anyone with an interest in rural areas.

Register here to secure your place.

Date: 25th January 2021

Time: 2-4.30pm (join Zoom from 1.45pm)
