GLAS Traditional Farm Buildings Grant Scheme: Now Open

In partnership with The Heritage Council, the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine have reopened the 2022 GLAS Traditional Farm Buildings Grant Scheme today.

The scheme will remain open till Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022.

This is an annual grants scheme for the conservation and repair of traditional farmers in the Green Low-Carbon Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS). The principal objective of this scheme is to ensure that traditional farm buildings and other related structures that contribute to the landscape’s character and are of significant heritage value are conserved for active agricultural use.

Some key scheme points:

  • Onlyfarmers approved Green Low-Carbon Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS) participants can apply.
  • Grant amounts of up to €25,000 are available for eligible projects.

The DAFM will distribute all payments following certification by the Heritage Council. Grant awards will be no more than75% of the cost of works, with a maximum grant payment of up to €25,000.
